Rally on Kashmir Solidarity Day at UN Headquarter, New York

NEWS RELEASE

DESPITE extremely cold weather and snow storm warning, large number of Kashmiris and Pakistani supporters gathered Saturday in front of United Nation’s Headquarters in New York to show solidarity with people of Kashmir. Protesters were shouting slogans against occupying brutal forces of India and the human rights violations in Indian occupied Kashmir. Later a resolution was also presented to United Nations addressed to the Secretary General demanding to enforce UN Resolution on Kashmir and honor their commitment of Right of Self Determination for people of Kashmir.

The protest rally was organized by Kashmir Mission USA under the leadership of Capt. Shaheen Butt (Chairman) and Malik Nadeem Abid (Executive Director).

A Kashmiri activist and Executive Director of Kashmir Mission USA, Malik Nadeem Abid injured  in a road accident. The incident happened on FDR Drive in Manhattan and the accused driver immediately ran away from the scene of accident. Malik was driving back from UN Headquarters in New York where he led a very successful rally on Kashmir Solidarity Day when an unidentified vehicle smashed his SUV from rear. Malik Nadeem Abid was taken to Bellevieu Hospital by ambulance where he is being treated for neck, head and back injuries. At the time of accident, a journalist from Daily Pakistan, Sajjad Azhar Hussain was also travelling in the car. Mr. Sajjad Azhar Hussain also sustained injuries and was also transported to the same hospital for treatment. Several friends visited them in the hospital and prayed for their speedy recovery.
